The FBI has warned of nationwide phishing scams targeting permit applicants. Scammers are impersonating city officials to request fraudulent payments via wire or apps. The Town of Woodstock will never ask for permit fees via cryptocurrency, wire transfer, or peer-to-peer apps (Venmo/Zelle/CashApp).
