Where is the Town Hall located?
We are located at 31 The Green, Woodstock, Vermont. We are located at the same address as the Woodstock Town Hall Theatre, the home of Pentangle Arts.
When is Town Hall open?
The town hall is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, except holidays.
Summer Hours June - August: Monday - Thursdays 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Fridays 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
When is the Assessors' Office open?
8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

What are the Responsibilities of the Town Assessors?
The Assessors primary responsibility is to appraise as accurately and equitably as possible all real property in the Town and Village in compliance with the Vermont State Statutes. The Grand List is a list of all properties in Woodstock and their assessments. The assessment valuation (listing) year runs from April 1 through the following March 31st.
Other duties of the Town Assessors office include annual maintenance such as updating assessment site improvements from building permits, processing the State's Current Use and Homestead data, address changes, property transfers, sales tracking and validation for the State Equalization Study and town wide reappraisal assessments when mandated by the State.

The Town Clerk is on the first floor to the right of the entrance door.

What Do You Go to the Clerk's Office for?
Birth Certificates, Civil Union Licenses, Death Certificates, Deeds, Dog Licenses, Elections, Land Records, Marriage Licenses, Register to Vote
Where do I apply for a dog license?
Dog licenses are issued by the Town Clerk’s office every year between January 1 - March 31 (a late penalty applies after that, and the license is still required). Bring each dog’s current “Certificate of Rabies Vaccination” to the Town Clerk’s office.

Where do I buy Solid Waste Disposal tickets?
For residents who dispose of their trash at the Hartford Transfer Station, you must purchase a permit and disposal cards in advance at the Town Clerk’s office. Windshield sticker permits are $30 for the first family car and $15 for the second car. A coupon book (10 bags @ 30 gallons per bag) can be purchased for $49.50. What should I do about recycling?
The Town of Woodstock has a mandatory recycling ordinance that requires all property owners in Woodstock to recycle glass, paper, newspaper, cardboard, and aluminum cans. Your trash disposal contractor is obligated to collect and recycle these materials for you and you are obligated to separate them out for collection. If you choose, you may bring your recyclables to the transfer station in Hartford. For more information, please visit www.GUVSWD.org.
