During 2008, the Town Clerk's office archived and indexed 4,310 pages of land record documents, issued 93 temporary motor vehicle registrations and administered 327 Hartford solid waste disposal residential permits and 553 ten-punch coupons to go with them.  As usual, the office provided thousands of copies of deeds and records for the law, banking, real estate and insurance industries.

There were 2,831 registered voters for the November 2008 elections and 2,039 ballots were counted.  Only 1,406 ballots were counted at the March 2008 Town Meeting voting.  The last day for new voters to register for the March 2009 Town Meeting vote will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

In 2008, the dog license tags were orange and 500 dogs were licensed.  The tags for 2009 are purple and are ready for every dog that is kept in Woodstock.  There are some new ordinances designed to encourage the timely registering of dogs in Woodstock.  The easiest, most convenient and least expensive option is to bring a properly executed "Certificate of Rabies Vaccination" form to the Town Clerk's Office before the end of March.  A license and new tag costs only $7.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.

The office is in general good order, and as always, if anyone has a question, idea or suggestion to offer, the door is always open.

                                                               Respectfully submitted,

                                                               Jerome R. Morgan
