During 2009 the Town Clerk’s Office archived and indexed 4,607 pages of land record documents, issued 108 temporary motor vehicle registrations, and administered 330 Hartford solid waste disposal permits and 515 ten-punch coupons to go with them. As usual, the Office provided thousands of copies of deeds and records for the law, banking, real estate and insurance industries.
There were 2,830 registered voters at the time of the 2009 Town Meeting, and 927 people voted. The last day to register to vote in the 2010 Town Meeting will be Wednesday February 24, 2010.
In 2009 the dog license tags were bright purple and 618 dogs were licensed. The tags for 2010 are gold colored and are ready for application to every dog that is kept in Woodstock. Please remember there are some new ordinances designed to encourage the timely registering of dogs in Woodstock. The easiest, most convenient and least expensive option is to bring a properly executed “Certificate of Rabies Vaccination” to the Town Clerk’s Office before the end of March. A license and new tag costs only $8.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.
The Office is in general good order and up to date. If anyone has a question, idea, or suggestion, the door is always open.
Respectfully submitted,
Jerome R. Morgan Woodstock Town Clerk
